Credit Collector - English Speaking

This position is part of the Global Partner Payment team, based in The Netherlands, Amsterdam. We are looking for people who are just as passionate about travel as we are, highly motivated, goal-oriented with a positive attitude and a can-do mentality.
The Credit Collector is responsible for collecting outstanding invoices and promoting preferred payment methods while dealing with disputes and inquiries from our customers. Each Credit Collector will be assigned their individual portfolio. In this role, it is important to reduce risk while optimizing revenue, maintaining a professional relationship with hotel suppliers and collaborating with Expedia Market Managers located in different parts of the world.
As part of the team, you will have the following responsibilities:
  • Make collection calls and be proactive in increasing the number of accounts that pay by Direct Debit, where applicable;
  • Act as an advisor towards Sales to identify opportunities for more revenue without increasing risk;
  • Communicate with hotels in various countries as required and bring new and innovative ideas how to collect unpaid invoices while maintaining a great business relationship;
  • Work well with other departments within the organization and maintaining strong relationship with internal and external business partners;
  • Identify process improvements and guide the test & learn to initiate, monitor, report and follow-up on improvements;
  • Analyze and follow up on customer questions and disputed invoices, 
  • Enhance payment behavior of hotels;
  • Complete ad hoc projects when required in line with business policy and procedures
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in English and another language is a plus!
  • Ready to work in a fast changing environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Financial background is a plus
  • Detail-oriented, organized, efficient and ability to multi-task 
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and mathematical skills 
  • Positive attitude, goal-oriented, and ability to work with minimal supervision  
  • Excellent verbal and Written communication skills 
  • Dependable, flexible, and ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Knowledge of Sidetrade/Salesforce is a plus
